Are you prepared for the unexpected?

Join us for Zombie Preparedness Day October 25th at the Westlake Shelter House at Gage Park in Topeka!

This fun twist on disaster preparedness preparing for the mythical zombie will get you prepared for any tornado, flood, or other incident.  Visit interactive stations on disaster preparedness and learn about:

  • Food Storage;
  • Pocket Preparedness;
  • How to build a disaster bucket;
  • How to build a disaster kit for your car;
  • Sheltering in place;
  • Pet Preparedness;
  • Family disaster exercises!

Shawnee County Medical Reserve Corps will be available for basic health screenings and Shawnee County CERT will be offering FREE weather radio programming!  There will also be a kids corner with games for the kids, a zombie quarantine, great giveaways, and much more!

Fred the Preparedness Dog will also be there to share thoughts on family preparedness.  Stations will run from 4pm to 7pm.  The family friendly zombie walk will begin at 7pm, come early to be zombified!

Admission is free!
