Create a family disaster/emergency plan today! Talk to your family about what to do during different disasters and emergencies. Complete the Family Plan form and print a copy of your plan for each family member.
When creating your family disaster plan, don't forget to plan for specific needs of your family (elderly, medical issues, infants, pets, etc....). Plan for hazards in your area - tornadoes, floods, fires, etc....
Talk to your family about what to do if the unexpected happens to you! Have a plan for sheltering in your home during a storm, for evacuating your home, for escaping a fire, or any other hazard you can imagine.
