Food!
Do you have an emergency food supply? An emergency food supply is enough non-perishable food to sustain your family for 72 hours.
Think about what you have in your pantry. Do you have very many non-perishable food items? Sure you do! Those canned foods, ramen noodles, peanut butter, and other items. Yes, those items can be considered part of your food supply!
Keep extra on hand and rotate your stock. Gather these items together into an easy to access location.
When gathering your emergency food supplies, don't forget to be aware of any dietary needs (diabetes and such) or age-related needs (formula, etc...)
Challenge!
Do you have enough food for each member of your household for 72 hours? If you can answer yes to this question, post "I'm prepared!" to our Facebook page (Kansas Division of Emergency Management) and list 5 items you have in your emergency food storage to be entered into a prize drawing!
